Student card

Before applying for a student card, you need to register at the University. When it is done you need to visit one of the following places. You can go either to the local government or to a so called „Kormányablak”. Both are located next to a tram stop.
To the local government you need to make an appointment, you can make it there or under this link online. This is located in tram stop „Kálvin tér”.



You can go to „Kormányablak” anytime in opening hours without any appointment. It is located in tram stop “Szent Anna utca”.



When you arrive an officer will welcome you at the entrance; where you will have to tell that you are there for a ‘STUDENT CARD’ application. The officer will provide you with a number.

When you see your number and the window number on the display, you have to go to the particular window, where the officer will initiate the procedure. S/he will take your ID documents (passport and address card), after which you will need to inform her/him about the aim of your visit (i.e. to obtain a ‘STUDENT CARD’).  The officer will take a photo of you, after which you will have to sign a document – the specimen signature you provide will be visible on your student card, for which reason we advise you to provide a genuine one. At the end of the procedure you will be provided with an A4 size paper with your photo and date on it, which is called ’NEK’ datasheet

After submitting the datasheet, the Registrar’s Office will inform you about when you can collect your temporary student card. Obtaining the permanent student card could take several months, and will be available at the place of application. (You can check the status of the application any time in the Neptun system the following way: Administration menu » Student Card request » FIR status column. If you notice the following message, it means your card is ready, and you can pick it up at the Government Office (“Kormányablak”): “SIKERES DIÁKIGAZOLVÁNY  IGÉNYLÉS” (successful student card application))

At the and you will get back a form that you need to bring back to the Educational Office at the University and they will make you a temporary student card.
Be aware, a temporary student card is valid for three months, so in case your permanent student card is not issued, you can ask for extension of the temporary one in the Educational Office.

Permanent student cards have expiry too. By registration for the semester you will get a sticker on it in the Educational Office, you get a new sticker in every semester.
