Public transportation in Debrecen

Public transportation in Debrecen is provided by DKV (short for Debreceni Közlekedési Vállalat – Public Transport Company of Debrecen). 2 tram, 5 trolleybus and 51 bus routes and scheduled services are available.
You need to buy, tickets or passes to use the public transportation system.

Check the details and prices here.

Single tickets are valid for a single uninterrupted trip without transfer and interruption. When you get on the vehicle, please make sure that your ticket is validated, as passengers are not entitled to use the vehicle without ticket validation.

The best and most comfortable way to use public transportation is to buy a monthly pass, available at a discounted price with your student card (you can apply for it upon registration) at post offices and the main building of the University. The monthly pass is only valid together with your student card and with the student card number written on it.

For more information, please visit the DKV website.
